Our fourth trip to the Red Sea and, as ever, it delivers! Barren desert above and rich

colorful reefs, teeming with life, inches below the surface. We flew Egyptair from JFK

to Cairo then onto Marsa Alam in the southern part of the "Red Sea Riviera"--very

convenient flights through the brand new Cairo airport. Our trips were with Emperor

Divers and we boarded the Emperor Fraser, out to Daedalus Reef then south, almost

as far as the Sudan border to Zabargad, St Johns Reef and the Fury Shoals--an area

we had not been before but certainly want to return to. Our second week was on the

Emperor Elite to the marine parks, the Brothers Islands, remote and offshore and a

return to Daedalus. I was very pleased with the results of my wide angle scenic

pictures--they capture the colorful reefs, festooned with soft corals and the blizzards

of tropical fish swirling around them.
